Olympus 35 I

Japan’s first 35mm film camera
With a built-in lens shutter

The Olympus 35 I is a visual camera with 35mm film. It is a model that embodies the two goals that Olympus wants for a camera: "small size and light weight" and "rapid shooting". In other words, it can be quickly taken with three simple operations: turn the knob to wind the film, hang the shutter (charge), and press the shutter, so it has taken the nickname "Suri camera" (Suri in Japanese means a person who secretly steals things) and has gained immense popularity. At the beginning of the release, the screen size was 24×32mm, but with GHQ's guidance, it has been changed to the current 24×36mm compatible with sliding mounts. This series continued to evolve to the V-shape.
