OLYMPUS PEN E-P1

Bringing the PEN name into the digital era
The first step toward mirrorless

The OLYMPUS PEN E-P1 is the first model of a mirrorless interchangeable lens digital camera that complies with the Micro Four Thirds system standard. The name "OLYMPUS PEN" comes from the half-size camera that was released in October 1959 and took the world by storm as a pioneer in the popularization of cameras. The E-P1 has achieved a smaller body, adopted an original mechanism, and adopted a universally attractive design, giving it its name as a model that provides more people with the pleasure of photography and the joy of owning a camera. Equipped with a 4/3-inch high-speed Live MOS sensor and a newly developed image processing engine "TruePic V", it ensures high image quality that is comparable to that of conventional SLRs, and supports HD video recording and high-quality recording using linear PCM. In addition, it is equipped with functions that enable creative photo expression, such as six types of art filters, and has gained wide support from digital SLR beginners to high amateurs and professional sub-cameras.
