At OM Digital Solutions, we value "facing nature and conveying its charm". As an initiative to embody this aspiration, in 2025, the OM Marine Club, an activity by employee volunteers, was launched in Japan.
The OM Marine Club is an in-house activity that deepens understanding of products and brands by experiencing diving and underwater photography in the ocean. This time, the first generation of members has obtained a C card (open water), an international diving license.
Learn, Dive, Challenge | The Path to Obtaining a C-Card License
The process to obtain a license is thorough, consisting of e-learning classroom lectures, basic practical training in the pool, and ocean training in Futo, Higashiizu. Students gradually acquired skills while learning safety management and diving theory.
"I was a bit nervous at first, but with the support of the instructors I was able to move forward step by step," "I felt a great sense of accomplishment," and other comments from participants convey that the process of learning and taking on challenges was itself an invaluable experience.
Another "decisive moment" encountered underwater
The moment you dive into the sea, what unfolds in front of you is an underwater world beyond imagination. There are schools of fish, flickering lights, and a unique floating sensation that you can't experience on land.
The members who were impressed by the participants were that OM SYSTEM cameras were highly trusted on the underwater filming site. There were many divers who held the TG series and OM-1, and I realized through my own experience why they are chosen as "tools that do not miss decisive moments".
Filming is not just an act of recording; By taking photos of the surprises and emotions you feel underwater and sharing them with your friends, the experience will become deeper and more engraved in your heart.

Through our experience of interacting with the ocean, we were able to understand our mission of "To enrich the lives" not just intellectually, but with our senses. We learned about the importance of nature, and based on the realizations we gained, we want to think about what we can do and put that into action.

The OM Marine Club is not just a leisure activity. By learning about and experiencing nature, it is also a place where we can take a look at the perspective of the people who use our products and reexamine our manufacturing and brand approach.

By bringing together such diverse experiences and passions, the OM Marine Club's activities will continue to expand. We will learn and experience together, and not limit our circle to the company, but will also connect with people who love the ocean and partners, as we move forward to the next stage.
